California’s oil spill is proof that climate action is worth the cost

On October 3, there was an oil spill that encompassed prime California coastal real estate. According to an article by Yahoo; "this major oil spill is the latest proof that the social costs of the energy transition pale in comparison to the costs of the fossil fuel economy." Yahoo also reported: "California is experiencing another ecological crisis

The full extent of the spill remains unknown, but is likely at least 126,000 gallons, and could take months to clean up." This major oil spill as a vivid reminder that climate action is necessary. It is important for all industries to start moving away from fossil fuels and more towards renewable energies such as solar power. To do this we need a collective push to stop fossil fuel emission. One way we can help do this is to electrify much of our economy.
