Good news for those in Florida - a legislation that would change Florida’s rooftop solar industry just got pushed back. “Rooftop solar panels may cost more to hook up under a bill moving through the Florida House. It may also have utility companies paying less for extra energy. Opponents say the legislation would hurt the rooftop solar industry and lead to thousands of jobs being lost.” - WFSU Public Media Florida Rep. Lawrence McClure, R-Plan City, who sponsors the bill claims that he does not want to put the rooftop solar industry out of business. His concern stands with the non-solar users in the coming years as solar continues to gain customers. The state is currently trying to find a middle ground to benefit solar users and nonusers.
